Yorkey's Outback Crossing Tour

2 hour trip around Yorkey's crossing taking in Flinders Lookout & top of the gulf look outs then following in the foot steps of Edward John Eyre across outback country towards the Flinders Ranges. Basically an extension of the award Winning Flinders Ranges Water Cruises ‘Top End Eco Cruise’ & is an excellent informative tour in its own right, especially for those with limited time.

Yorkey's Crossing is a fascinating place at the junction of both the the Eyre & Yorke Peninsula's approximately 10km North of Port Augusta. This was originally the crossing used when droving stock or camiliers used this crossing. Edward John Eyre first crossed here in 1840 whilst looking for a route from Adelaide & Port Lincoln.

Travel from Port Augusta the back way to Wilpena Pound & Central Flinders Ranges on the Western plain of the Ranges via Warrakimbo & Hookina. This transfer uses unsealed outback roads & has commentary on points of interest plus stop at the old ruins of the Warrakimbo stone shearing shed.

Other transfers can be arranged to different destinations including Arkaroola, Coober Pedy, Broken Hill, Adelaide & Port Lincoln can be arranged.
